A Glazed Purple Stripe from the Czech Republic that has proven to be winter-hardy and is starting to size up nicely. Originally Vekan, but the misspelling "Vekak" has become quite widespread. You can see it here on this site, which seems to specialize in a lot of Czech types, so I trust that, as well as other folks who've pointed out the error. I'm falling in love with Glazed types for roasting- the textural experience is something else, and Vekan is no exception.
